James Hummel

Hello! I am Dr. James Hummel, and I’m a special education teacher here at BEST Academy. With over a decade of experience in curriculum development and special education, I am passionate about enhancing educational outcomes through innovative and inclusive teaching methods. I hold a California Moderate Support Needs Education Specialist Credential with added ELA and Autism Authorizations and recently earned my Doctorate in Education – Educational Leadership from California State University, Los Angeles. My teaching philosophy is student-centered, utilizing engaging and interactive lessons tailored to diverse learning styles. I have a proven track record of integrating technology into the classroom, from using humanoid robots to pioneering game-based learning initiatives. I am dedicated to helping students find their voices and excel in their academic journeys.
